Raghurajpur is full of tradition, culture and heritage.The village is in Puri
district, odisha known for it's art and
craft which means Pattachitra. The village
is too much famous for it's odissi dance
Guru(Kelucharan Mohapatra) and for the
Gotipua dance.
On this village always do the work like Tussar painting, stone and wood craft and so many different types of masks.In 1998 the village was choosen the best heritage for art and craft by the project INTACH. On the time of Rath Yatra they decorated the throne of three chariots with traditional decoration called Patas.
The main work of this village is pattachitra which are made on a piece of cloth called patas.On the cloth surface they made the picture of various Gods, Godesses and the mythological story of Mahabharat and Ramayan.The villagers also paint's color on Tussar saris.
The village is 14 km away from puri.Visitors or tourist come by bus to NH 203 to reach the Chandanpur Bazaar and they take a right turn to reach the heritage village.The villagers always beleive to Bhuasuni Godess and beleive to Radha Mohan, Laxminarayan. The village is full of coconut, mango and jack fruit and on every house you can see the traditional painting on the wall. Every women loves to wear the cotton saree and on ocassion they wear the silk saree,girls love to wear the salwar kameez and the men loves to wear the lungi and gamucha. Try to visit the place.
