crafts. Bandhani art is one of the most popular craft of India, this is mostly
found in Gujarat, this type of tie-dye practiced mainly in the states of
Rajasthan and Gujarat, India. The word bandhani is derived from the Sanskrit word “bandan” which
means to tie. This bandhani is also known as Bandhej or Tie Dye or
Bandhni or Bandana, etc. according to the regional area and the pronunciation
of that area.This art of Bandhani is a highly skilled process that is too
difficult, but the skillful artist of India made these with lots of hard work
and traditional skills. The technique involves dyeing a fabric which is tied
tightly with a thread at several points, so that many variety of patterns like
Leheriya, Mothra, Ekdali and Shikari are produced by depending on the manner in
which the cloth is tied. In this process the main colors used in Bandhani are
yellow, red, blue, green and black. After the processing is over Bandhani work,
results into a variety of symbols including, dots, squares, waves and strips.
Bandhani pieces can be dyed by natural and artificial colors so these are very
attractive in looking, because of this people like these products.

Mostly Bandhani colors are dark, no
light color is used, and the background is mostly in black / red cloth. So the
color combination is eye caching. The Khatri community of Kutchh is the
community which, The Bandhani work has been exclusively carried out. A meter
length of cloth can have thousands of tiny knots known as "Bheendi"
in the local language ("Kutchhi"). Four bheendis are known as a
"Kadi". After dyeing in bright
colors the knots form a design are opened very clearly. Traditionally, the
final products can be classified into "khombhi", "Ghar
Chola", "Patori", "Chandrokhani" etc. which are the
most popular products of Gujarat. In all over the India Bhuj and Mandvi of
