Patachitra art of Odisha

Patachitra is a traditional art form, here in this type of art cloth-based   scroll painting are produced by skilled workers of Odisha. This term patachitra comes from the Sanskrit language, in which the "Patta" literally means "cloth" and "Chitra" means "picture". Most of these paintings depict stories of Hindu God lord Krishna. Different stories of Lord Krishna are shown in the form of paintings. Not only the paintings of lord Krishna artist make many other paintings of other Hindu  lords like lord Jagannath, lord Vaishnav, lord Saiva  and many others.

As Indian peoples are very much religious and very much believes in Gods. So this thing can also reflect in their art forms. Many artist of India love to put Lord’s in their painting or arts. This patachitra art also comes under this category.
