Why Indian silk sarees are the first choice for any auspicious occasion?

Sarees have been the staple of fashion for Indian women for a very long time. From the earliest days, the sarees have been regarded as the ideal wear for Indian women since it not only served as the perfect piece of cloth to cover the modesty of the Indian woman but it was also perfect for the tropical weather of the Indian subcontinent. The summer days in India are long and extremely hot, and this makes it difficult to wear clothes that tend to block the air from flowing through the layers of clothing. However, the saree can not only keep the women of India cool during the hot summer days but they can also make her look truly beautiful and gorgeous.

In order to make a saree, it is necessary to make use of threads that are woven by the handloom experts. Mainly there are two types of threads that are produced in India, the silk and the cotton. There are also other variations of these basic threads that may be produced by combining silk with cotton or some other materials. While the cotton sarees are known to be beautiful and comfortable, they are mostly worn for day to day occasions. A woman may opt to wear a cotton saree when she is at home or when she wants to visit a nearby place. However, silk sarees are ideal for any special occasion where a woman might want to go all decked up and beautiful.
Silk Sarees are the best choice for any occasional use
For the longest time, silk sarees have been associated with royalty. The silk sarees are made from threads that are made from protein fibers obtained from cocoons of silk worms. These are then processed to produce the silk threads that are then used to create different types of silk sarees. Women in India have a strong liking for different types of silk sarees as they are colorful, gorgeous and fashionable. In fact, any fashion conscious woman focuses on getting at least a few pieces of stylish silk sarees for her wardrobe that she can wear for a wide range of social and auspicious occasions.

Silk sarees are ideal wears for women in India for any kind of religious festivals or auspicious occasions. It is therefore no wonder that saree manufacturing companies offer special collections of silks sarees during the time of the festive season. Apart from pujas and other forms of religious festivities, silk sarees are also worn extensively at the weddings. Whether a woman is the bride herself or whether a woman wants to attend to a wedding party of a dear friend, a silk saree can make her look truly beautiful and well dressed for the occasion. A woman can also combine a silk saree with a range of gold jewelry ornaments that would further enhance the beauty of the silk saree. There are also many other types of social occasions for which silk sarees make the prefect wear. These include birthday parties, engagement parties, and even office or corporate gatherings.

With the widespread demand for stunning silk sarees, numerous companies have come forward with their own collections of silk sarees for the steadily expanding market in India and other parts of the world. Even women who usually prefer to wear western wears tend to opt for silk sarees on special occasions. There are numerous online stores that offer women with the scope to buy silk sarees from the comfort of their own homes. These online saree shops regularly present new collections of sarees for their customers so that they always have something new to check out and buy their picks from them.

Why hand woven silk saree is too much costly?

Silk sarees are some of the most beautiful garments that any woman can wear. They are not only known for their royal and majestic beauty but also for the comfort that they provide when they are worn for long hours. Since these sarees have been in production in India for thousands of years, different styles have come up over the years that only bring greater versatility to this ageless piece of cloth. Every part of India is known for the unique type and variety of silk saree that it produces. It is therefore no wonder that the silk sarees are also some of the costliest garments that are currently available in the country.

There are a number of reasons due to which silk sarees are priced so highly in India. First and foremost, creating a hand woven silk saree is no small feat. At first, silk threads are reared from silk worms and their cocoons. This is a process that often takes several days. Around 50000 cocoons are used for making a single silk saree. To feed these silkworms, it takes about one to two tons of fresh mulberry leaves. The type of silk that is produced by the silkworms also depends on the specie itself. For instance, Anetheraea mylitta, Antheraea pernyi and Antheraea yamamai are silkworms that are used for making tussar silk. The Philosamia ricini and Philosamia Cynthia varieties are used for making eri silk sarees. The Antheraea assama is a silkworm that produces muga silk, a unique type of silk thread of golden yellow color. The rearing and harvesting of the silk threads is also an important factor when it comes to determining the quality of the threads.

Once the threads are gathered, they are then worked on by the artisans and craftsmen of India who weave the threads to make unique pieces of silk sarees. This weaving is also a time consuming task and takes a lot of effort on the part of the artisans. Depending on the nature of the silk threads, the artisans make use of different methods and techniques to produce the sarees and put color on them. Such work takes a lot of effort and careful precision. It is due to such factors that silk sarees come at a much higher price than other forms of garments. A woman wearing these sarees also need to take special care of these sarees to make sure that they remain as good as new for many years.

There is another important reason why silk sarees have always fetched a high price compared to other sarees. The silk fabric has always been associated with a sense of royalty. While cotton sarees were always meant to be worn for everyday occasions, the silk sarees were worn mainly for special occasions such as weddings or religious ceremonies. Even today, women choose to wear them as their bridal outfits on their wedding days. The silk sarees have also been popularized by the queens and princesses of the Indian monarchy that ruled different parts of India over thousands of years.

At present, silk sarees are designed in a wide range of unique styles that cater to the fashion needs of modern women. Even though these sarees come with a high price tag, women in India simply love to splurge on them as they are not only great to wear but also a source of great pride. In fact, any fashion conscious woman has at least a few pieces of silk sarees in her collection that she can wear for special occasions. The glamour that is associated with these sarees help a woman to always stand out in a crowd.

Among all the dresses that have evolved over thousands of years of Indian culture, one of the most important attire for women in this country is the saree. In today’s world, it is a customary practice to blend the fashion trends of different parts of the world. However, if we go back to the earliest times in history when the saree first evolved, we can see how the religious and socio cultural ideas and practices of those times gave rise to the different methods that were used in the production of sarees.

India has always been a culture where people lived in closely knit communities. The main occupations for traditional Indians have been farming and the cottage industry. India is well known for the expansive cottage industry it has and how different items have always been made in various parts of the country. The production of sarees is closely associated with the handloom industry of this industry. Since time immemorial, Indian artisans created fine quality sarees from the handloom threads they produced. These handlooms were mostly cotton and silk, however, different variations among these were also available. Each and every region of India had their own handloom production techniques and the quality of the final products varied greatly from one place to another. This was due to the difference in soil quality, weather conditions, fertilizers used, etc. which gave rise to various blends of cotton and silk looms. The sarees that were made from them were consecutively of different quality.

A perfectly matching saree blouse completes the look of an Indian woman. Blouses can in a great way make or break the look of a saree. While most women love to have their blouse custom designed for the right fittings, there are also many sarees that come with their own blouse options.

Blouses, like the sarees themselves, come in different styles and patterns. There are full sleeve, half sleeve, three quarter sleeve and even sleeveless blouses. The blouses can also be classified according to their necklines. The material with which a blouse is made is also an important factor that women need to consider while buying them. The other factor that needs special thought is the color of the blouse. While some women prefer blouses that come in a contrasting shade from that of their saree, there are others that prefer properly complimentary shades. Whatever be the preferences when it comes to sarees and their blouses, women of today now have great choices when it comes to buying them. There are many online stores that offer top quality blouses for women to go with their sarees. The blouses can be bought along with the sarees or even separately, as a buyer would prefer.
